How to Get Rid of Junk in Wesley Chapel, FL
Pasco County doesn't pick up trash in Wesley Chapel. Your private trash hauler does, and the hauler is also who you call about bulky items. Paint, batteries, chemicals and electronics go to the county's two household hazardous waste centers, and most of those items are free. Mattresses, usable furniture, tires and construction debris each have their own route. This guide covers where every common item goes.
Item by item
Where Each Type of Junk Goes in Wesley Chapel
Find the thing you are trying to get rid of, then follow the route. Rules and fees change, so each card links to the office that sets them.
Furniture and Other Bulky Items
Couches, tables, dressers and anything too big for your trash can have two routes. Ask your trash hauler about a bulk pickup, or take them to a county solid waste facility yourself. Furniture is charged by weight there, at $104.03 a ton or $5.20 per 100 pounds.
Mattresses and Box Springs
Pasco County tells residents to contact their trash hauler to schedule pickup of large items like furniture and mattresses. Habitat for Humanity's ReStore doesn't accept mattresses, so donation isn't an option for them.
Appliances
Florida law keeps white goods like washers, dryers and stoves out of landfills. At the county facilities, residential metal is free unless it's part of a mixed load. Refrigerators and air conditioners cost $3 each. Working appliances under 10 years old may qualify for a free Habitat ReStore pickup.
TVs, Computers and Electronics
The county's household hazardous waste centers take electronics for a small fee: $5 for a computer monitor, tower or laptop, $5 for a TV up to 35 inches, and $10 for larger, projection or console TVs. The Habitat ReStore doesn't take desktop computers or printers.
Paint, Chemicals and Batteries
Paint, thinners, pool chemicals, fertilizers, motor oil, antifreeze, fuel, fluorescent bulbs and batteries are free at the two county household hazardous waste centers, within daily limits. Household batteries can also go in the blue bucket at the New River Library, 34043 SR 54 in Wesley Chapel.
Yard Waste and Storm Debris
Pasco County asks residents to bundle branches into 4-foot sections and put them in the trash can or at the curb for regular pickup. Bigger loads can go to either county facility for $104.03 a ton. A felled tree or a storm-cleared yard is usually too much for curbside.
Old Tires
Car and pickup tires cost $2 each at the county facilities, with a limit of two a day at East Pasco. From October 1 to November 1, 2026, residents can drop off up to four tires, 36 inches or smaller, for free. The county is running the drive because tires that hold water breed mosquitoes.
Concrete, Drywall and Remodel Debris
Construction debris isn't household trash. The county takes it at the West Pasco facility in Spring Hill only, at $104.03 a ton. The East Pasco Transfer Station in Dade City doesn't take it. Call ahead about how loads must be separated.
Things Still Worth Using
Clean, working furniture, appliances, cabinets, tools and building materials can go to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 4700 Allen Road, Zephyrhills. It offers free donation pickup across Pasco County for items that qualify. Drop-offs end at 4 pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

How Bulky Item Pickup Works in Wesley Chapel
Wesley Chapel is unincorporated Pasco County, and the county doesn't collect trash. Residents sign up with one of eight licensed private haulers, and the county sends bulky item requests back to them. Start with yours.
See Pasco's Hauler ListFind Your Hauler
The county doesn't keep records of which hauler serves each home, so check your trash bill. Pasco's licensed hauler list, with phone numbers, is on the county trash page.
Ask About Bulk Pickup
Ask what counts as a bulk item, how many you can put out, whether there's a charge and how far ahead to book. Get the answers before anything goes to the curb.
Describe What's Going Out
Say exactly what the items are, especially appliances, tires and anything with a battery. Some items need a separate route, so nothing should be left behind on the day.
Or Take It In Yourself
If the hauler can't take it, the county facilities can. Bring proof of Pasco residency and tell the scale house what you have, so you're sent to the right area.

Self-hauling
Hauling Junk Yourself From Wesley Chapel
Cover the Load
Florida law requires loads of trash, debris or anything that could fall or blow out to be covered and secured. A close-fitting tarp and straps count. Do it before you leave the driveway.
Bring Proof of Residency
Pasco's facilities take waste only from Pasco residents, and the East Pasco Transfer Station doesn't accept commercial waste. Bring ID that shows a Pasco address, and tell the scale house what you're carrying.
Separate Before You Load
Residential metal is free on its own but is charged when it's part of a mixed load. Mixed loads, furniture, yard waste and debris are charged by weight. Sorting at home keeps the bill down.
Weigh the Real Cost
The nearest county facilities are in Dade City and Spring Hill, so a self-haul means a borrowed truck, a long round trip, loading time and the scale fee. For one load of branches that's fine. For a whole garage it adds up fast.
If hauling it yourself doesn't add up, tell us what needs to go and where it is on the property.
